Achievement of Isuzu pick-up in Dakar Rally 2009

We are pleased to announce that the final Isuzu Diesel Mission has successfully come to an end. The Isuzu team led by Mr. Garland and Mr. Suzuki have demonstrated outstanding performance for the world to see by finishing at 11^th position within the car category. The result is 1^st T1, 2 Diesel amateur, and No.1 Diesel Pick up segment. Also, another Isuzu D-MAX driven by Swedish pair – Mr. Wallentheim and Mr. Ohlsson got the good result by finishing at 44^th position in the Dakar rally. The Isuzu D-MAX, which is already famous for its durability and fuel economy, have proven that it has the power to stand out in the toughest international rally in the world.

Dakar Rally 2009 took place from 3-18 Jan 09 in South America. The race started in Argentina, passed through Chile and make a round trip to finish in Argentina with total distance over 9,500 km including 5,650 lm of special stages through sand dunes and rough terrains. The Dakar is renowned for its harsh driving that is the ultimate proving ground for man and machine. In this event, out of 530 teams consisting of 230 motors, 30 quads, 188 cars and 82 tracks participated in this rally; only half of them were able to pass through the finish line.

This concludes the final of the Isuzu Diesel mission. The Garland Motor sport and Isuzu D-MAX has been crowned 3^rd over all position from the outback Australasian Safari 2008. They have survived through the scorching desert in Dubai Desert Challenge 2008. And finally they have passed the test of the toughest Dakar rally of the planet with outstanding result.
