Dare to Care - May 26th 2019
On Sunday 26th May The Corporate Social Responsibility Committee of Southern Sales and Service Company Limited had a national day of caring. This national day of caring is an initiative of United Way Trinidad and Tobago which started in 2013.
This enterprise is one where colleagues and companies alike can spend their time and effort with their employees to create a spirit of volunteerism where everyone’s effort can impact lasting change in and around the communities of Trinidad and Tobago.
SSS in the spirit of giving their time and service selected to give a helping hand to the El Socorro South Government Primary School. Located in the South El Socorro area, across the highway from the SSS rental office, the school comprises 125 Students, who all reside within the local community.
The scope of the project undertaken by SSS included:
- Repainting of the exterior school walls and railings- selected areas
- Touching up of other areas,including the front of the school and library
- Painting of murals on selected walls
- Landscaping
- Supply and installation of projector and screen or AV room
- Computers for the school library
- Donations of story books and other educational books at primary school level by SSS staff
In addition to the participation of SSS staff, a few selected internal SSS contractors also lent much needed guidance and support on that day. A heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed in making this venture a success.
