Mayaro Coastal Cleanup - Sept 21st 2019

Southern Sales Corporate Social Responsibility Committee and staff showed their support en masse at Mayaro beach front cleanup on Saturday 21st September, by volunteering their service and time. This was the 2nd such carded event for Southern Sales staff and the turnout at the event proves that SSS staff truly care about the environment. The day was filled with fun and games followed by

the curry duck cookout competition which was met with full participation and enthusiasm.

It is to note that the event is not a regular clean-up. There is an important aspect centered on data collection and recording of the garbage collected. The data is forwarded to the ocean conservancy and used to drive policy formation and legislation on environmental protection. Additionally, the data is used in scientific studies, academia and to influence behavioral change.
